Oddly
HOW TO PLAY

A good guess is all you need.

Two free games: Estimate (type your best guess) and This or That (pick the right one). A new round of each every day. Play your first round of each game free, no account needed. A free account unlocks every round.

1

Meet something curious.

Read the question and its assumptions. Every illustration gives you a way to picture the problem.

2

Make your best guess.

In Estimate, type a positive number such as 150, 80k or 40 million. Use the calculator if it helps. In This or That, tap one of the two options, or press A or B. Take your time.

3

Enjoy the discovery.

Reveal the answer, see how close you were, and explore the explanation and sources. Then try the next question.

Play before signing up.

Guests get one free round of each game. A free account unlocks every round. Oddly remembers your rounds on this device and offers the next one you have not finished. Open Rounds to choose any date, continue a saved round or see your answers. A free account keeps your progress across devices.

How points work

Each question is worth up to 1,000 points, for a maximum of 5,000 per round. This or That gives 1,000 for a right answer and 0 for a wrong one. In Estimate, the closer your guess is to the answer, the more you score. Being twice too high is treated like being twice too low.

Some quantities naturally vary. These questions tell you before you guess and reveal the accepted range afterwards. Guesses inside that range receive full accuracy points. A hint reduces the points for that question by 20%.

Two fresh rounds every day

Each game publishes a new round at midnight UTC. Your first completed Estimate round for today counts towards today’s standings and your rating. Older dates and This or That never change your rating. Replay any round; its first completed score stays on your Rounds page.

Play at your own pace.

There is no timer and no download. Your round saves as you play, so you can come back later. Sound is optional, and animations follow your device’s reduced motion setting.

At the end of a round, share its link to let a friend try the same questions. Their progress is saved separately, even without an account.
